Everton of England midfielder, Alex Iwobi is set to welcome Nigerian-born dazzler, Bamidele (Dele) Alli to Goodison Park for £40m, few hours after The Toffees signed former Chelsea ace, Frank Lampard as their new head coach.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that, barely had Iwobi and his pals settled down over celebrations of the news that Lampard would be their new gaffer than the mill was again abuzz with the impending arrival of Alli.
Alli is set to join Iwobi’s team from London-based Tottenham Hotspur, where he has been in the cooler since the middle of last year, such that he is heading to Merseyside in search of a revival.
The report out of Queensland confirmed that Iwobi could be the first Nigerian national team player to be a teammate of Alli, as Everton and Tottenham are in talks about a permanent deal for the mulatto midfielder.
The report adds: “Those discussions involve Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and the north London club’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici.
“Initially it was thought any move was a long way from completion, however, it is now understood a breakthrough has been made in those talks and a medical has been booked in for the player.
“If Alli does move to Goodison Park, it will be on a two-and-a-half-year contract, with the transfer fee structured around payments based on the midfielder’s performances for Everton.
“While any potential deal for Alli has not yet been formally agreed, it is believed the chances of the transfer taking place are looking good, with new Everton manager Frank Lampard a key factor in convincing the 25-year-old to join.”
