Tottenham Hotspur of England midfielder, Bamidele Alli has missed out on the opportunity of making a loan move to Paris-Saint Germaine of France this summer, as his club’s top brass have sensationally turned down an offer from the French Ligue 1 club for the Nigerian-born dazzler.
Although Alli has dropped down the perking under this season, with a plethora of options now available to Jose Mourinho in midfield, initial talk about the former Milton Keynes Don star moving on have been doused in recent time and Spurs’ moguls have opted to keep him.
Megasportsarena.com reports that this is in contrast with reports that PSG had been hoping to secure Alli as a backup option in the club’s attacking midfield role for this season, but the Paris-based side’s £1.5 million loan bid has been turned down by Spurs.
A report by British newspaper, The Guardian noted: “It appears manager Jose Mourinho is willing to give Alli more chances this season, even though he has been frozen out of the first team for now.”
However, an additional report by British tabloid, The Mirror added this past weekend that Spurs are bracing for a final push from PSG to take Alli on loan this summer, as the French champions appear to have renewed their interest in the out-of-favour midfielder and the Parisiens will step up their efforts to convince Tottenham that a deal can still be done.
Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy does not want Alli to go and has already rejected PSG’s first offer, but the player has repeatedly been left out of Mourinho’s squads, after being withdrawn at half-time in their season opener against Newcastle United, and ultimately opened the door for the French champs, whose initial offer of £1.5m was rejected last week.
