Bayern Munich of Germany defender, David Olatokunbo Alaba has been hit with yet another summer transfer option, following fervent interest now being expressed in his signature by Inter Milan of Italy, megasportsarena.com reports.
So soon after reports emerged that Liverpool of England had joined the race for the Nigerian-born Austria international, alongside their English Premier League rivals, Chelsea and Arsenal, with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona of Spain also said to have their eyes on him, Alaba has now found similar attention coming his way from Inter’
The latest transfer scoop in Alaba’s favour indicates that Inter are ready to rival Barcelona and Madrid for his signature during this summer’s transfer window, as The Nerazzurri enter the race for the 27-year-old left-back, who has made 372 appearances for Bayern since debuting for The Bavarians in 2010, and has now recorded 28 outings in all competitions this season.
A report by Sport1 revealed that Inter entered the hunt after the Italian Serie A club’s coach, Antonio Conte admitted his admiration for the Austria captain, who will see his current deal at Allianz Arena expire next summer.
Although Barca and Los Blancos had been thought to be leading the chase for Alaba ahead of the 2020/21 season, Inter may fancy their chances of beating them and the EPL lot to the defender’s deal, as Conte had earlier tried to sign the dark-skinned lad during his time in charge of Chelsea.
Conte is now orchestrating The Nerazzurri’s move for the eight-time Bundesliga winner, who has also been linked with Manchester City, as he is also looking to utilize the versatile qualities that have been seen over the years in Alaba, who has primarily operated as a left-back in his career at Bayern and as a midfielder with the Austrian national team, but has played in central defence on a number of occasions this season with his club in the German Bundesliga.
