Bayern Munich of Germany defender, David Olatokunbo Alaba has opted to stay put at The Bavarians, despite initially falling out with the club over a public disclosure of his contract issue, megasportsarena.com reports.
In contrast with initial fears among the German Bundesliga club’s fans that the Nigerian-born Austria international could leave Allianz Arena in anger, Alaba has sensationally disclosed that he is ready to stay put at the German champions.
The report out of Deutschland revealed that Alaba is set to disappoint the English Premier League trio of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool, who initially look set to jostle for the lad with a Nigerian father and Philippines mother during the January transfer window.
Earlier this week, Bayern president, Herbert Hainer told Bayerischer Rundfunk that negotiations over a new deal for Alaba had ceased, with the player now in the final year of his current contract, but that disclosure angered the well-acclaimed left-back.
However, despite his ongoing public contract dispute with Bayern, the Austria international new appears ready to remain at Allianz Arena until the end of this season.
A source close to the player told Sky Sports News: “David is not considering any other clubs at this stage. He is focusing a hundred per cent on Bayern.”
