Racing Genk of Belgium striker, Cyriel Dessers has been hit with a huge transfer debacle, as he will have to quickly decide whether to stay put with the club or move to Turkey before the summer window slams shut, megasportsarena.com reports.
With the former Heracles Almelo of Netherlands top scorer having failed to replicate his scorching form at Genk, where he played second fiddle behind compatriot, Paul Ebere Onuachu, Dessers could be tempted to jump at the first opportunity offer him for a transfer.
However, two decisive factors lie on the route towards his ultimate decision, the first being that Onuachu is being tipped with a plausible transfer this summer, as several clubs are reportedly falling over one another in the race to get his signature.
The second factor staring Dessers in the eye, though, is that the club said to be eager on taking him to Turkey, Kayserispor are in dire straits and they barely escaped the gloom of relegation from the Turkish Super Lig last season.
Dessers could now stay put at Genk and hope for the exit of Onuachu before the end of this month, or bare himself for another hectic fight in the search of regular playing time even with last season’s top scorer in the Jupiler League still around.
He could, alternatively, also accept a tempting offer from Kayserispor, who finished 17th last season, then turn out to be hero in helping them do better than the past campaign, in which they only avoided the dreaded drop by the whiskers.
The report by Turkish publication, Olay Turk adds that Kaserispor want Dessers to replace the club’s outgoing Romanian striker, Denis Alibec, thereby providing a reversal of fortunes for the mulatto striker, who had to play second fiddle to Onuachu at his hometown club last season.
Dessers, who was top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie the previous season, is desperate to get more game time in order to prove his class, which could now come with his move to Turkey or from the expected departure of Onuachu to a major European league this summer.
