Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze has hit two additional milestones with The Yellow Submarine, as he has been named the best dribbler aged under-21 dribbler in the just concluded season, while also been named among the top-20 best young talents in LaLiga Santander.
Megasportsarena.com learnt that, in getting the top nod for dribbling ratios and emerging among the best youngsters in the league, Chukwueze was adjudged to have had a better season than Real Madrid whiz-kid, Vinicius Junior.
The 20-year-old Chukwueze, who made his La Liga debut this season in the colours of Villarreal, same with Vinicius at Los Blancos, was rated far ahead of the Brazilian youngster by fans of the Spanish top-flight league.
Chukwueze was also better than Vinicius in terms of goals, as the Super Eagles’ rookie got five and the Brazilian had only two, while the Nigerian lad got the edge on the Madrid star domestically, despite them both on song with two goals each in the UEFA Europa League.
Vinicius also fell way behind Chukwueze in the voting for best dribbler aged under-21, as the Villarreal sensation, who was third highest scorer en route to gold with Nigeria at Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup made an average of two successful dribbles per game.
That put Chukwueze 12th on the overall La Liga list, ahead of Philippe Coutinho, Thomas Lemar, Marco Asensio, Santi Carzola and Isco, with an inepth survey by Whoscored showing that the Eagles’ kid completed 52 dribbles, more than any other player in La Liga aged 21 and under.
Aside his personal strides, Chukwueze equally helped Villarreal, as his efforts saw them avoid relegation, especially when he scored and got an assist in an eight-goal thriller with Barcelona, which ended 4-4 in April.
Overall, Chukwueze contributed seven goals for the Yellow Submarine, five of his own and two assists, in 26 appearances over the season.
