Super Eagles’ utility defender, Chidozie Awaziem has finally dumped FC Porto of Portugal, as he has sealed a full transfer to their Primera Liga rivals, Boavista, where he played on loan this season, megasportsarena.com reports.
Having excelled during his time on loan, the former Bursaspor of Turkey, FC Nantes of France and UD Leganes of Spain star has been rewarded by Boavista, who have splashed out five million Euros to make him their record signing ever.
This comes after Boavista triggered off the buy-out option for Awaziem at the end of a very impressive loan spell from Porto, where the 24-year-old central defender failed to settle and was loaned out severally.
It is a new career leap for Awaziem, who joined Porto in 2015 but, through he grew rapidly through their youth ranks, he was not given a decent chance to stake a claim for regular first-team football.
Despite the snub he received at Porto, Awaziem got a truly defining season at Boavista, where he played 27 games for the midstream Portuguese club this season, captained them for many games and helped them avoid relegation.
