Glasgow Rangers fans have been applauding Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun for a Tweet which proves the big centre-back “gets it”.
Leon, 33, joined Rangers last season following an injury to Nikola Katic and what started as a patch-over has blossomed into something of a love affair as the big defender continues to impress.
Taking to Twitter, Balogun shared an image of himself celebrating the 2-1 win over Hibs with the caption “This. Is. Rangers” in the style of 300’s King Leonidas.
It’s gone down very well with supporters who were once again mightily impressed with the form of the defender who continues to stand-out amid injuries across the squad.
Balogun has played 10 times already this season and there has been a greater reliance on the ex-Wigan and Brighton man due to the absences of Connor Goldson and Filip Helander.
Something of a journeyman player who’s played across Germany for the majority of his career, it is telling that Rangers are now the second top first team on Balogun’s list of appearances by club.
