Glasgow Rangers of Scotland midfielder, Joe Aribo is back in form and scoring goals once again, thereby earning praises from one of his club’s veterans, Jermaine Defoe, megasportsarena.com reports.
In the wake of Aribo’s stunning form and goal last weekend in the Scottish Premiership, the former Charlton Athletic of England sensation has gained accolades from Defoe, who admits he was impressed by the lad’s performance in their 2-0 win against Livingston on Sunday.
Aribo missed ten matches in total comprising three in the Europa League qualifiers and seven in the Scottish Premiership while on the sidelines and was omitted from the Super Eagles squad for their games in October after failing to recover from an ankle complaint.
However, the buzzing midfielder marked his return to the starting lineup by finding the net in the ninth minute, after which Defoe hit his 300th career goal seven minutes later, but the veteran did not fail to remember Aribo, who made his first start since August 12 and was on parade for 75 minutes at Ibrox Stadium.
Defoe told Rangers TV: “I was raring to go and I prepared myself really well for the game and I knew when I got the opportunity, I would have to take it. Joe did well as well following a long lay-off with injury but it was a good win and we are delighted.”
