Everton of England midfielder, Alex Iwobi will be on opposing ends with arsenal youngster, Folarin Balogun where their respective sides clash Friday in the English Premier League, megasportsarena.com reports.
This is sequel to another temporary promotion Balogun has gained in The Gunners’ main team ahead of the fixture at Emirates Stadium, while Iwobi has been declared fit for the game against his former club.
While Iwobi trained with The Toffees’ squad in their final workout before their trip to London, Balogun also put himself in line to be included in Arsenal’s roster by joining the main team in training at Colney Centre on Thursday.
Balogun may end up getting a starting spot for Friday’s match, as The Gunners’ coach, Mikel Arteta will be without his ill captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and injured French striker, Alex Lacazette, who is still nursing a hamstring complaint from last weekend.
That has paved way for Balogun to tango Iwobi in the thick of action at Emirates Stadium, especially as the Nigerian-born England under-20 international has always featured off the bench when named in The Gunners’ matchday squad.
Balogun, who has been rubbing shoulders with Arsenal’s first team stars in recent weeks, more frequently than before, last week agreed to extend his stay at Emirates Stadium, as he aims to step up his current statistics of six senior games in total and now looks good to get his first full outing in the EPL.
