Ahmed Musa: We Have No Problems With Nigeria’s Football Authorities

Super Eagles’ captain, Ahmed Musa has dispelled reports about disaffection in the Nigerian camp, but insists all is well with him and his teammates, megasportsarena.com reports.

In contrast with reports that some of the players are grumbling over unkept promises from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the ministry of sports, the Fatih Karagümrük of Turkey winger stressed that nothing is amiss.

He went on to bluntly deny a media report about pent up emotions rising against the Nigerian football and sports authorities, stating instead that all the players are concentrating fully on how to win the Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Kano Pillars, VV Van Venlo of Netherlands, CSKA Moscow of Russia, Leicester City of England and Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia star reiterated that everyone in camp is happy and fully focused on the task ahead.

He added that their only target in Cameroon is to return to Nigeria with the AFCON 2021 title, which would be his second feel of the trophy, after being part of late Coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi’s squad that won it at South Africa 2013.

With that stated, Musa declared emphatically that there is nothing to worry about among the players Nigerians are looking up to in Cameroon, as they all remain committed to the nation’s expectations.

The former fleet-footed winger, who has been playing cameo roles with the team, is in contention to start the Eagles’ last match in the group as they are already through to the last 16 as winners of Group D.

Should the Eagles beat Guinea-Bissau, Eagles’ interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen will equal his own record as the only Nigerian coach to have won all group games with the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations – a record he set in 2006.

The captain is now leading the battle charge to help Eguavoen achieve that feat, as Musa stated categorically that only victory is on his mind, as he and his colleagues prepare for their last group game with Guinea-Bissau and assured that anyone selected will give a good performance.

Musa declared emphatically after the team’s recovery training on Sunday that there was no disharmony in camp, adding: “Where is this terrible story coming from? The team is happy and we don’t have any issues with the authorities.”
