The proprietor and financier of 36 Lion Football Club of Lagos, Alhaji Gafar Olawale Liameed has set in motion an ambitious plan to erect a sports complex in Badagry local government area of Lagos State, megasportsarena.com reports.
It is another step forward for Gafar, who was voted as a board member Lagos State Football Association (2010-2019), member of Lagos State Football Technical Committee (2010-2019) and was an NFF/FIFA representative at the 2014 World Cup RoadShow in Belem, Brazil.
He was appointed chairman Lagos State chapter of Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) in 2017, while having also been appointed into various sports bodies, including Badagry All Stars FC, as well as sponsor of Oba Akran Cup Sports Clinic for Youths, both in Badagry.
Gaffer, who is also a renowned football players’ representative and his club produced the like of Imoh Ezekiel, Junior Ajayi and Peter Olayinka, added in his citation for the upcoming edition of Pison Magazine that one of his biggest aspirations is to take infrastructure development to the nitty-gritty of the community, hence his decision to embark upon the sports complex project.

A citation for his team stated in part: “36 Lion Football Club, established since December 18 in the year 2000, is a full-fledged professional football club with roots deep in Badagry, Lagos.
“We are the only club in the history of Badagry that has brought Nigerian National League matches to the kingdom and we hope soon that we will be the first club that will own its own private stadium in Badagry.
“That project will be on our acres of land that is situated in Sito Village, along Lagos/Badagry Expressway. We are also currently constructing Lions Arena, a Football Vocational School at Ibeju Lekki, in Idi Omu Village, along Lekki/Epe Expressway.”
