Why Joe Aribo Wasn’t Invited For Algeria Friendly Matches

0

Southampton midfielder Joe Aribo asked to be left out of the Super Eagles friendly matches against Algeria, team officials have told Megasportsarena.com.

Tongues have been sent wagging on the non invitation of Aribo for the games on Friday and next week Tuesday, but officials were quick to explain the circumstance of his omission.

“Aribo is very much part of Jose Peseiro’s plans,” an official said.

“He was not dropped for the matches against Algeria because the player asked to be excused for him to take some rest after his recent transfer to the Premier League in England.”

He wasn’t listed because he asked to be excused from the game to settle in well at his new club, that was why Raphael Onyedika was invited.

The Super Eagles will play two friendly matches against Algeria.

The first match will be on September 23 in Constantine against a mainly home-based Algerian team, before they take on the main national team four days later in Oran.
