Fernebahce of Turkey have confirmed that their in-form winger, Victor Moses will be out injured for at least four weeks, after suffering a ruptured muscle in Monday’s Turkish Super Lig match against Gazisehir Gaziantep FK, during which he scored his side’s first goal.
Megasportsarena.com can report that, after netting The Yellow Canaries’ opening goal in their 5-0 trouncing of Olarewaju Kayode’s club, Moses bowed out in the 77th minute and the Istanbul-based club have now provided details of the star’s freak injury.
While it had initially been seen as a tactical substitution by Fernebahce’s coach, Ersun Yanal, or just to ease off after leading comfortably in the encounter, the club have now disclosed in a statement that a ruptured muscle was detected after Moses went for a medical examination.
It is another blow for Moses, who is in an 18-month loan deal from Chelsea of England, as he had been was excellent in Fenerbahce’s 5-0 win, with a goal and an assist, after which he was named to Team of the Week in the very first round of matches in the new season.
The 28-year-old former Super Eagles’ winger, who made 15 appearances in total in the Super Lig last season, following his arrival from Chelsea in the January transfer window, is now set to be out for about 35 days.
