Crystal Palace of England youngster, Victor Akinwale has come out with an emphatic declaration that he will give his very best with the London-based English Premier League club, where he signed his first professional contract in midweek.
Although he is still considered a rookie at Selhurst Park, the Nigerian-born lad brushed aside any complexes saddled against him, as he declared that he is ready to push on with the main team.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the youngster is eager to hit the ground running, following a splash of accolades he received from members of the club’s technical crew.
Leading the avalanche of eulogies for the Nigerian-born lad was The Eagles’ under-23 team’s head coach, Paddy McCarthy, who worked closely with Akinwale during their time together in the under-18s.
McCarthy said: “Victor is a talented goals scorer with the right attitude. He’s worked very hard to secure a professional contract with Crystal Palace, and needs to use this achievement to drive him on further.”
In his response, the 17-year-old Akinwale, who been with Palace since the age of 12, as an academy player, and earned promotion to the U23s after netting nine goals last season, disclosed how much he has been inspired by his family and everyone at the London-based club.
Akinwale told Palace TV: “It’s an amazing feeling, honestly. I’ve been waiting for this all my life. Thanks to all the people who brought me to this stage – I’m ready to push on for the season.
“(My family] have taken me all over the place, all over the country. I’m really grateful for my family, my friends as well.”
