The Super Eagles will this Friday launch Nigeria’s new set of jerseys when they take on Algeria in an intentional friendly in Austria, as the men’s senior squad again get the honour of being the first side from all cadres to don the latest catchy designs from American sports kitting giants, Nike.
The new range of Nike sports kit available to all cadres of Nigeria’s national teams were unveiled last month by five players of the Eagles and two from the female squad, Super Falcons, as they conducted very graphic and memorable photo shoots themselves.
In what became the latest show of aesthetic excellence from the country’s players in revealing a new range of kit for the nation, the selected ‘models’ followed directives from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Nike to personally showcase the designs at their various bases and in strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
It, however, turned out to be a very creative compilation of catchy photographs that were all released simultaneously from the players’ various bases, as the NFF stepped up from the glitterati that showcased the arrival of the Eagles’ immediate past designs that were launched just before the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
That kit went on to be adjudged the best at Russia 2018 and fifth overall in recent years, such that Nigerians would love to see how the latest range will fare, starting from this Friday, despite similarly catchy designs released this year by other tems.
Among the array of catchy kit to flaunt are those of Daniel Akpeyi’s club, Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa and Ghana’s national team, Black Stars, but many fashionista have already started permutations towards the possibility of the Nigerian jersey again emerging top for 2020.
A report by Prompt News stated: “The Super Eagles will wear the new Nike jerseys for the first time when they file out for the two international friendly matches in Austria against Algeria and Tunisia.
“Super Eagles co-Captain William Troost- Ekong (Watfird); Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City); Victor Osimhen (Napoli); Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal) and Alex Iwobi (Everton) as well as Falcons Asisat Oshoala FC (Barcelona) and Norway-based Rashidat Ajibade launched the new Nigeria kit via Instagram on Sunday, September 20, 2020.”
