Ademola Lookman is ecstatic about his invitation to the Super Eagles
and he is now set to make his debut for the Super Eagles this month in their two-legged World Cup qualifying play-off against Ghana later this month, Megasportsarena.com reports.
Lookman previously represented England at U19, U20 and U21 level having been born in Wandsworth, London and was also part of Paul Simpson’s U20 World Cup winning team in 2017.
But the on-loan RB Leipzig player has opted to play his senior international football for Nigeria with whom he qualifies through both of his parents.
“And so it begins my first call up, and can’t wait to represent my country. See you soon, Naija @NGSuperEagles,” the on-loan RB Leipzig winger tweeted on Friday.
The winger will also be joined in the squad by fellow Leicester City team-mates Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho as Nigeria seek to qualify for December’s World Cup in Qatar.
Lookman has scored four Premier League goals for the Foxes this season after joining from German side RB Leipzig last summer.
He scored the same number of goals in the Premier League whilst on loan at Fulham last season making 34 appearances for the west London side.
