Sadiq Umar Wins Player Of The Month Award

Almeria striker Sadiq Umar has won the Player of the Month award in Spain, Megasportsarena.com reports.

He scored five goals and two assists in La Liga 2 for the month of February which helped the Rojiblancos to four straight wins in the Spsnish Segunda division.

The 25 year old Nigerian international saw off competition from Huesca’s Jaime Seoane and Eibar’s Jose Corpar for the prize.

He kicked off February with a goal each against UD Ibiza and Malaga, followed by a brace against CD Mirandes and scored again when they hosted Fuenlabrada.

The former Roma predator scored 13 goals in 25 league appearances so far this season, just seven goals from equalling last season’s tally.

He is one of the players Nigeria will be relying upon to down Ghana in this month’s double header FIFA World Cup Playoff matches in Accra on March 25 and Abuja, four days later.
