Odion Ighalo has revealed that he could’ve been playing in Russia earlier in his career.
Ighalo is now playing for Al Shabab and recalled an offer being made in 2008 from Lokomotiv Moscow.
“I felt good in Norway, then the representatives of Udinese and Lokomotiv Moscow approached my agent,” Igalo said. “A more profitable contract was offered in Russia. Loko was willing to pay three times more than Udinese, so it was difficult to choose.
“The agent and I were already at the airport and still did not know which plane to board – to Russia or to Italy. It was really difficult to make a decision.
The agent then said that, they say, if ambition is more important to you, then go to Audi see If you need money, then choose Lokomotiv. I chose Italy, not Russia. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my career.”
