D’Tigers list of 12 players for the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers starting this weekend in Angola has been released.

Some familiar names are back this weekend including, Ike Diogu.

The 38-year-old has been pivotal for D’Tigers, having captained the former African champions over the past decade.

The Nigerians head to the Angolan city of Benguela where they will take on Cape Verde, Uganda and Mali in Group A.

It will be Nigeria’s first appearance at a major tournament since they finished twelfth at AfroBasket 2021 – their worst result – in the history of the tournament.

The team will be coached by Julius Nwosu and assisted by Ogoh Odaudu.

Nigeria will play their first match against Cape Verde on Friday, square up with Mali on Saturday and confront Uganda on Sunday.
