Former Eagles captain and head coach, ‘Chairman’ Christian Chukwu has received another comforting message from Lagos-based billionaire, Femi Otedola, as the oil magnate has promised more comfort, care and support to the Nigerian soccer legend.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that Otedola has already come forward as the biggest donor in the cash drive that has helped Chukwu receive expert medical attention in London, but the avuncular tycoon says he is not thinking about stopping just yet.
Rather than throw his hands up for a job well done, Otedola declared on Wednesday, after a visit to Chukwu in the recovery ward of Wellington Hospital, London, that money will not be a barrier for adequate medical attention and post-surgery care for the defender-turned-gaffer.
Otedola, who earlier made a contribution of $50,000 to help the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations-winning captain get back on his feet, added that he is appreciative of all efforts being put in by the hospital’s management in taking adequate care of Chukwu.
He gave profound thanks to the care team of Dr. Leye Ajayi, who was a consultant to Otedola’s late father, former Lagos State governor, Sir Michael Otedola, as well as Dr. Katherine Piggott (also an uncologist) and Dr. Evadney Keith (a cardiologist).
Otedola declared: “I want to thank you for your effort regarding the medical attention to our beloved ‘Chairman.’
“Please continue to do your best. I want to say now, for the avoidance of doubt, that money will not be an impediment to his treatment.”
