Benue Queens of Makurdi female handball team star and Nigerian national team captain, Dorothy Nyang is talking tough, after helping her side gain promotion back to the top-flight league in the country.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that, in the wake of her side’s ascent to the upper echelon, despite placing second in the lower division, Nyang has declared emphatically that they will do everything to remain where they are.
She added that the team from Makurdi has what it takes to rank high in the country and reasoned further that they can even go on to win the premier league title this year.
The lanky player, who pointed out that returning to the Premier Handball League was the team’s priority, posited that they fight hard in the upcoming championship, in order to remain in the top-flight.
Nyang told www.aclsports.com: “I feel super excited to be back in the Prudent Energy Handball League.
“Though we finished second position in the Division 1 League (it was) due to series of injuries.
“We are still okay because our main target was to return to the elite league where we belong.
“Benue Queens has what it takes to compete at the Prudent Energy Handball League. It does not matter how small we may seem to be.
“What matters is the zeal and determination. We are determined to stay in the league this time and we are going to fight hard.”
