Rivers United have extended their lead at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League following a 1-1 draw with champions Akwa United in Uyo on Saturday.
The table toppers took the lead in the 17th minute after Matthew Etim diverted Kazie Eyinnaya’s cross into his own net.
However, two minutes after the restart, Etim redeemed himself when he set up Adeyeye Adeyemi to level for Akwa United.
The Port Harcourt side are now unbeaten in their last 11 NPFL games and remain at the summit with 43 points from 20 matches.
