NPFL Players Celebrate Super Eagles Invitation

Two of the eight NPFL players called up for the Super Eagles friendly matches against Mexico and Ecuador are over the moon and can’t wait to join up with the rest of the team, Megasportsarena.com reports.

Rivers United attacker, Rafiu Ishaq Kayode, who was one of the scorers as they dismissed bottom-placed MFM FC 5-0 last weekend, is ecstatic and tweeted. 

“Excited to be called up to the @NGSuperEagles squad for the friendly games versus Mexico and Ecuador. For me, this is a dream come true and a rare opportunity to wear the colour as well. Grateful to @RiversUnitedFC management/technical crew and my teammates.”

He has scored 14 goals and assisted 3 this season.

Enyimba striker Victor Mbaoma says he is honoured and privileged to make the Super Eagles list for the games.

The 25-year-old who has scored twelve goals with one assist in 24 league matches also tweeted: “It’s a privilege and honour to make the Super Eagles list, I am so happy. I owe God everything.”

The other six NPFL players invited for the matches are goalkeepers Adewale Adeyinka (Akwa United) and Ojo Olorunleke (Enyimba).

Defenders, Isa Ali (Remo Stars) and Ibrahim Buhari (Plateau United)

Midfielders Chiamaka Madu (Rivers United) and Babatunde Afeez Nosiru (Kwara United).
