Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti admits he’s excited working with Victor Osimhen as Napoli face Cagliari tonight.
The Nigerian international is wanted by hordes of clubs in England but it looks unlikely he would leave Naples except the money is tempting.
The former Inter Milan manager highlighted Osimhen’s performance against Barcelona in the Europa League on Thursday as a glimpse of what Osimhen can do with his darting runs and good movement.
Spalletti said, “Osimhen’s talent is stratospheric and I cannot comprehend the levels he could potentially reach. In the last match, he made a 40-metre sprint and then got the cross wrong, but he is close to also being able to put in these pin-point crosses that would be masterpieces.
“Victor is the one who needs to understand first and foremost what he could become, because he can achieve so much. His teammates must also be ready to prove themselves, because playing with a talent like this means you are forced to raise your game if you want to survive. I too as a coach am obliged to improve.”
