Southampton of England youngster, Michael Obafemi could be on his way out of the club this summer, as The Saints are reportedly ready to sell him for another player, megasportsarena.com reports.
Despite the Nigerian-born lad having shown great promise in a handful of senior games last season, The Saints appear set to sell him off in order to buy Adam Armstrong from Blackburn Rovers.
British tabloid, The Sun reports that Southampton are willing to use Obafemi as part of the deal to lure Armstrong over to Saint Mary’s.
Armstrong netted 28 goals and managed five assists in 40 Championship games for Blackburn last term, but the former English Premier League champions are willing to let him go in exchange for Obafemi.
The report adds: “Blackburn value Armstrong at £25 million, but the Saints are likely to make a bid of closer to £8 million with Obafemi included.
“Rovers are very enthused about the Republic of Ireland international and may be more willing to let Armstrong go if they can secure the 21-year-old.”
