Bukayo Saka says it would be a ‘dream’ to play in the Champions League with Arsenal next season.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the Gunners are chasing a top-four finish, but remarkably have not competed in Europe’s premier competition since 2016/17. As such, Saka does not have a single Champions League appearance to his name yet.
Will Saka walk away if they fail to make it to the ‘big boys club’?
While Liverpool fans would enjoy seeing Manchester United miss out (and they will have to enjoy it while they can, given Champions League changes are soon set to insulate big clubs from such catastrophes), it might be more productive (for them) from a transfer standpoint to see Arsenal fail to make the top four.
If Mikel Arteta cannot fulfil Saka’s dream, Klopp’s side will certainly be able to do so.
With the 20-year-old’s contract running until 2024, there is no immediate urgency, but if Arsenal fail to qualify then the possibility of a transfer will begin to loom large once again.
It’s a safe bet that Liverpool will be keeping an eye on things.
