Lazio Sound Out Move For Paul Onuachu

Lazio have sounded out a possible move for Paul Onuachu but they’ll face competition from Fiorentina, Roma and Atletico Madrid, Megasportsarena.com reports.

The 27-year-old Nigerian forward is having a great season in Belgium with Genk, scoring 19 goals in 29 Jupiler Pro League appearances this campaign, and he seems destined to move to a top club in the summer. Onuachu previously scored 74 goals in 181 games for FC Midtjylland.

Lazio recently approached Onuachu to discuss the possibility of a move in the summer. The Roman club are looking to pick up a new backup striker to replace Vedat Muriqi, who is currently impressing whilst on loan with RCD Mallorca.

The Biancocelesti will face competition from Fiorentina, Roma and Atletico Madrid, so it won’t be easy to secure the Nigerian forward’s signature. He currently has an estimated market value of around €17 million and is contracted to Genk until 2024.

Genk assistant coach Glen Riddersholm had discussed Onuachu and his probable departure in the summer, suggesting that he was “absolutely convinced” the Nigerian would leave.
