Joe Aribo’s Relentless Exploits See Him Named World Football Iron Man

Joe Aribo has made more appearances than any other player on across the globe this season and it has won him the prized World Football Iron man, Megasportsarena.com reports.

It’s been a marathon year for the Rangers playmaker after a packed season for both club and country.

The 25-year-old capped off an impressive campaign at Ibrox with a Scottish Cup winners medal, before heading out on international duty.

The playmaker, who finished the season as the main striker for Rangers amid a string of injury woes, is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

And earlier this week it was with The Super Eagles player hit the 70 game mark for the 2021/22 campaign.

The start during the win against Sierra Leone in the AFCON qualifiers means Aribo has played more games this term that any other player in world football.

For Rangers, Aribo made a whopping 57 appearances this season.

Domestically, he played 40 games across the Premiership, Scottish Cup and Premier Sports Cup campaigns.

The run to the Europa League final also added a whopping 17 games to Aribo’s calendar, with the route to Seville stretching all the way back to the Champions League playoff defeat to Malmo in August.

Alongside the relentless campaign at Ibrox, he has been a mainstay of the Nigeria side making 13 appearances in total.

He travelled with the squad to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon making three appearances, while also featuring in 7 World Cup qualifiers.

Add to that two friendly cameos and the start in the recent AFCON qualifier and Aribo surpasses his rivals

He is ahead of Liverpool striker Luis Diaz, who also featured for Porto, who enjoyed a run to the Champions League final while also featuring at the Copa America.

Anfield teammate Sadio Mane arrives in at 67 games after his AFCON success with Senegal and Liverpool’s late runs in the cup competitions.

Domestically, both Celtic’s Callum McGregor and Rangers’ teammate Glen Kamara are tied on 62 appearances this term ranking them as joint second for Premiership players.

Aribo could still add to his tally before he returns for pre-season, with another AFCON qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe to play.
