Home-based players in Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) have received hope of getting spots in the Super Eagles’ squad to the Africa Cup of Nations, megasportsarena.com reports.
This comes following a hint served by the interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen that he could consider calling up one or two for the Eagles’ upcoming preparatory camp.
The Eagles’ camp is scheduled to open in Uyo after Christmas and, heading into that phase, ‘Egu’ revealed that a couple of home-based players could be included in the provisional squad if his request for adjustment of the roster is granted by Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Eguavoen pointed out: “There are about two or three players from the NPFL I’m looking at, it doesn’t matter their positions.
“We have days to train before the final list will be submitted so it depends on what we see out there.”
