Ghana vs Nigeria: FIFA Appoints VAR officials For 2022 World Cup Playoff Games

World football governing body, Fifa has appointed VAR officials for the 2022 World Cup playoff between Ghana and Nigeria, Megasportsarena.com reports.

The matches are scheduled to be played in Cape Coast on March 25 and Abuja four days later.

The Video Assistant Referee will be used for both games (in Cape Coast and MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja) that will determine which team makes it to Qatar.

The first leg will be played on March 25 with Bernie Raymond Blom from The Netherlands appointed as the VAR official.

The Dutchman will be assisted by compatriot Rob Dieperink, while Athanse Nkubito from Rwanda will be the referee assessor.

Frenchmen Jérôme Brisard and Willy Louis Delajod will be in charge of the VAR for the reverse fixture in Abuja

Video Assistant Referee has been introduced for the final round of qualifiers to ensure absolute fair officiating.

Both teams face-off in a two-legged fixture for one of Africa’s five slots at Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
