Ghana have received a massive boost ahead of the 2022 World Cup play-off against the Super Eagles of Nigeria following Mohammed Salisu’s return to fitness.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the defender made his injury comeback on Thursday in a Premier League match against Newcastle in a 2-1 loss.
Salisu, according reports in the Ghana media, has made a u-turn on his decision not to play for Ghana and is now prepared to honor call-ups.
It was also reported that Black Stars head coach Otto Addo held meetings with Salisu and convinced him to pledge his national team future to Ghana.
The defender’s return to action comes as a huge relief to football fans in Ghana less than two weeks to the crunch game against Nigeria.
Ghana will host Nigeria on Friday, March 25, 2022 at the Cape Coast Stadium for the first leg of the Playoff tie and will head to the the M.K.O stadium in Abuja on March 29 for the reverse fixture.
