FC Midtjylland of Denmark midfielder, Frank Onyeka has received further assurances that his proposed move to Brentford of England will pull through, with the biggest going in his favour being that both clubs are owned by the same tycoon.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the newly promoted English Premier League club have already opened talks with Onyeka’s representatives, with a view towards making the Super Eagles’ rookie their first summer signing.
The 23-year-old, who has one cap for Nigeria, caught The Bees’ interest when he impressed for Midtjylland in the UEFA Champions League last season and helped The Wolves finish as runners-up in the Danish Superliga.
He now looks good to join Brentford because the EPL newcomers are also owned by Midtjylland’s supremo, Matthew Benham, who hopes to strengthen The Bees for their first ever season in England’s top-flight.
The stage is now set for Onyeka’s unexpected move to England, as Thomas Frank with his recruitment chiefs, Phil Giles and Rasmus Ankersen look to strengthen the squad this summer.
Although he is yet to become a full-fledged international, the trio believe Onyeka is ready for the move to England and the egg heads reckon that a financial agreement between both clubs would be simple to conclude.
To further pave way for the deal, The Bee’s reliable defender, Henrik Dalsgaard has moved in the opposite direction to Midtjylland, and attacker Emiliano Marcondes has left the team, while top-goals scorer Ivan Toney is being tracked by other clubs.
