FC Midtjylland of Denmark midfielder, Frank Onyeka is edging closer to a deal in England, as reports out of his base indicate that his Scandinavian club are in talks with a team in Queensland.
Although the English club in question has not been officially identified, megasportsarena.com gathered on good authority that the possibility of a deal looks promising.
That has brought up a strong hint that the former FC Ebedie of Shagamu battler, who has a single appearance with the Super Eagles, might have played his last game for The Wolves and could be starring in England at the start of next season.
The signal for Onyeka’s transfer received another key point when he was missing from the start of Midtjylland’s pre-season preparations, despite pulling out of the Nigeria squad for their international matches against Cameroon.
Onyeka’s absence from the commencement of preparations ahead of next season have fueled speculation that a transfer is in the offing for him in the coming month.
The greenlight has thus been lit about the possibility of a move to England for Onyeka, who has always openly exporessed his desire to play in the English Premier League, but is contracted to Midtjylland until the end of the 2023/24 season.
A report by Danish newspaper, Ekstra Bladet added: “FC Midtjylland is close to an agreement with a foreign club on a deal, and there are many indications that the arrow is pointing towards the sister club Brentford for the dynamic midfielder.
“It is envisaged that Onyeka won’t have problems obtaining a work permit to play in the Premier League despite having just one cap for the Nigeria national team in a friendly.
“Of his 123 appearances for Midtjylland’s first team, seventeen were earned in European competitions, including six in last season’s Champions League, paving the way for him to move to England.”
