New signing at Manchester City of England, Femi Fapetu’s father, Mr Bade Fapetu has revealed the value that his son is set to offer The Citizens, now that he has formally joined their academy at Etihad Stadium, megasportsarena.com reports.
Speaking in the wake of the lad’s official unveiling at Etihad Stadium on Monday, the older Fapetu disclosed that his son is an attacking midfielder that is showing huge promise and great potentials, though he is just 14 years old.
The older Fapetu stated as much after Man City announced that they had won the race for the signature of the promising Nigerian-born midfielder, who a report by Rising Ballers revealed is also a former trainee at The Citizens’ English Premier League rivals, Arsenal.
This also comes after the highly-rated young midfielder had earlier been heavily linked with a switch to either Manchester United and Liverpool, having trained with both EPL clubs prior to his transfer to the Etihad Stadium outfit.
Fapetu, who ended his association with Arsenal in the summer, following in the footsteps of his sibling, Bayo, who earlier switched to Derby County on scholarship terms, has now signed up to star for City’s under-15 squad in the 2021/22 season.
At The Etihad, Fapetu links up with the Nigerian-born trio of Tai Sodje, Samuel Edozie and Dire Mebude, as his father excitedly told allnigeriasoccer.com: “Femi signed for Manchester City, he just turned fourteen and is an attacking midfielder.”
