Emmanuel Dennis Touted To Replace Richarlison At Everton

0

Everton are reportedly plotting the signing of Watford ace Emmanuel Dennis, following the sale of Richarlison to Tottenham, Megasportsarena.com understands.

The Toffees are likely to be fairly active in the current transfer window. Following a poor season in which they narrowly avoided relegation, improving the squad will be a must.

Indeed, the Toffees have been linked with Harry Winks, James Tarkowski and Jesse Lingard. Those signings would add to the quality within Frank Lampard’s side.

However, they have also suffered a setback early in the window. Richarlison – Everton’s top scorer last term – was sold to Tottenham for a reported £50million initially.

Losing an influential player, and one who has scored 53 goals for the club over the past four seasons, is a big loss.

As such, the Toffees will want to nail down a like-for-like replacement.

Naturally, Lampard will be keen on replicating the goals output of the Brazilian, or risk suffering another poor season.

Watford forward Dennis is one player Everton are keen on. The Hornets star is one name on the list of strikers being drawn up.

The report states that £20million could be enough to prise him away from Watford.

That would be a bonus for Everton, as they would have a fair bit of money in the bank from the Richarlison sale.

Dennis could prove to be a good replacement for Richarlison at Everton. There are parallels between the pair off the bat, as Richarlison made the move to Goodison Park from Watford, after one season there.

In the Brazilian’s first season in the Premier League, he notched five goals and provided five assists. In Dennis’ first and only season in England to date, he found the net 10 times, and provided six assists.

Indeed, those numbers show him to be above the departing striker at the same stage of their careers. In fact, Richarlison’s best goals return in the English top flight is 13, in both the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons.

With that being said, Dennis appears a top replacement, and a player with a high ceiling. He could well have success should he go to Everton, and it seems he is ready for the challenge.
