Former Akwa United of Uyo striker, Emem Eduok has expressed delight over a new contract given him by Hajduk Split of Croatia and vowed to justify the trust given him by the club’s hierarchy, megasportsarena.com reports.
Speaking in the wake of a new deal handed him by the six-time Croatian champions, the 27-year-old former Super Eagles’ invitee said he has no misgivings about extending his stay at the East European club.
Eduok is now contracted to the Split-based side until the summer of 2023 and the fair-skinned attacker, who has already started training with his teammates ahead of the new season, said he is totally delighted with the development.
He is now praying for a turnaround of the ill-fortune he suffered last season on loan at Konyaspor of Turkey, where he struggled with injuries for most part of the campaign and got only six appearances for the Turkish Super Lig side.
The winger-cum-striker admitted he had a difficult season in Turkey, but believes the sorry story of the past ten months will turn into a better tale, as he stressed how delighted he is in making a return to his parent club.
Eduok, who scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 32 games for the club, declared: “I am very happy to be back in Split after 10 challenging months behind me.
“My wish is to use this positive energy that reigns in the club and the trust shown to me by the leaders. I can’t wait to run on the field again in Hajduk’s jersey and prove my worth.
“I want to help the team and the Club and, above all, cheer up these wonderful fans who have been supporting me all this time.”
