Arsenal’s Nigerian-born winger, Bukayo Saka has been tipped to star for England in their European Championship semi-finals clash wih Denmark, megasportsaena.com reports.
Alhough Skaa has not been a gular in The The Lions’ starting line-=up thus far, he created a spark as a substitute in one of their group games, such that ex-international strker, Alamn Smith is now tpping the left-footed dazzler to blast Denmark on Wednesday.
Smith, who made top marks with Leds United and Manches Uited during his heyday, is of a view that Saka can play a key role in adding depth to England’s formaion against the Danes, even if it means seeing the NBigerian-born lad play a a sub once again.
He added that a pivotal part of England’s strength in depth would be a potentially decisive factor against Denmark, as Gareth Southgate’s side step out in the last four at Wembley having breezed past Ukraine with an impressive 4-0 victory in Rome on Saturday.
Now, England are hoping to go one step further than their semi-final appearance at the 2018 World Cup and Smith, who has backed Saka to reclaim his place in the starting line-up, thinks England’s strong substitutes bench could be the key to seeing them reach the final of a major tournament for the first time since winning the World Cup in 1966.
However, Smith, who played for England against eventual tournament winners Denmark at Euro 92, also fired a warning for upbeat England to be wary of of the huge showdown at Wembley
Smith submittd: “It’s a dangerous game for England. It needs a lot of care and attention, but Southgate has been brilliant on the details so far.
“I think the game at Wembley will be a much more open game with more chances, that’s for certain. As to whether Denmark can go on and repeat what they did in 1992, let’s hope not.
“I’m sure the England players will be really well prepared and if we do ourselves justice, we should win the match.”
