La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid are rumoured to be eyeing a move for Paul Onuachu and they could move in for him during the next transfer window, Megasportsarena.com reports.
Onuachu has a €22m price tag placed on him by Genk and he has been brilliant in the last two seasons the Belgium club, scoring 52 goals in his last 67 league games for Genk.
The Colchoneros have struggled to perform consistently, Luis Suarez has failed to replicate last season’s performances and Antoine Griezmann hasn’t shown enough quality since his return from Barcelona.
Onuachu could be a decent fit for Atletico Madrid as he has a decent hold-up play, and his aerial advantage could be a joker for Diego Simeone.
Meanwhile, former Nigeria midfielder Mutiu Adepoju says the towering attacker would love to see Nigeria international Paul Onuachu play for Spanish giants Atletico Madrid,
“I think moving to Atletico Madrid will be a big move for Onuachu because Atletico are a big club in Spain and in Europe.
“He would be moving to a club with a great reputation. I’m sure he will suit their style of play because if he wouldn’t I don’t think the club will be interested in him. I believe Diego Simeone must have seen how he plays and he is quite confident that he can play there.”
