AFCON: Salah Reveals How Badly He Wants Victory Against Nigeria

0

Mohamed Salah has declared that the Pharaohs are not favourites to win the Africa Cup of Nations but hopes to give his best for his country in the tournament, starting with the game against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday.

Addressing the media on Monday ahead of the match, Salah emphasised the need to start the tournament on a winning note against Nigeria and said they’ll do everything to beat the Super Eagles.

“We are not the favorites to win the Africa Cup of Nations, but we will do our best to reclaim the title. I am only one of eleven players that represent Egypt. We will do everything we can to come on top in tomorrow’s match and in the tournament as a whole.

“We have to work very hard to live up to our expectations, playing every game as a team to win.

“I am yet to win my first title with Egypt, it would be an honor to win the AFCON, it’s been ten years since I started representing my country, and lifting the trophy would mean a lot to me.”

Tomorrow’s match will be the ninth time both countries will clash in the AFCON, with both countries sharing three wins and drawing twice.
