AFCON Qualifying: Super Eagles Annihilate São Tomé and Príncipe

0

The Super Eagles completely destroyed São Tomé and Príncipe 10-0 in their second Group A match of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in Agadir, Morroco on Monday afternoon, reports Megasportsarena.com.

In what was a total domination by the Nigerian side, Napoli forward Victor Osimhen scored four goals, Lorient striker Terem Moffi grabbed a brace while Leicester City’s Ademola Lookman, Stoke City midfielder Etebo Oghenekaro, Nantes winger Moses Simon and Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis scored a goal each to complete the decimation.

Nigeria now has six points from two matches following their 2-1 Matchday One win in Abuja against Sierra Leone.

Osimhen, Simon and Moffi had put the Eagles in control before halftime before the Island country’s total capitulation in the second half.

It’s a solid start for Portuguese coach
Jose Peseiro as he racks up two wins and twelve  goals in his first two competitive games in charge of the Super Eagles.

This is the highest score line by the Eagles since their 7-1 annihilation of Burkina Faso on July 27, 1991 in Lagos.

Nigeria’s next international match will be in September when they confront Guinea-Bissau in a key clash to determine who tops Afcon qualifying Group A.
