Tayo Adaramola has a debut to remember and the memory could last a lifetime for the youngster as his first senior start ended in victory against Stoke City in the FA Cup in England.

The 18-year-old Irish-Nigerian left-back played 65 minutes of the match City, and the club’s fans were full of praise for the youngster on Twitter. He’s also excited with the opportunity.

“It was an amazing feeling,” he told Palace TV. “A feeling I’ll never forget. I’m just happy I could do this with my family and friends around me too. It’s a happy moment for me and a happy moment for the Academy as well.”

Adaramola, who is still eligible to play for Nigeria, says he hopes he can build on a first start and gain some more minutes this season.

“I’ll take it as a first game,” he said. “It’s steady progress, and hopefully I can build on that and try to get more games and play more, get more minutes and get more games.

“I think this is a great game against a Championship club, so hopefully I can show that if I can play against a Championship club, I can play against a Premier League club. It was enjoyable.

“The conditions were perfect football weather. The rain was getting in my eyes – my hair products were getting in my eyes, that was the only problem! It was good football weather.

“I enjoyed it.”

Adaramola went 64 minutes with 63 touches, 2 tackles, 2 clearances, none dribbled past him, 85% passing and just 1 shot on target conceded to Stoke.
