Aruna Quadri produced a moment of magic and brilliance at the World Table Tennis Championship Finals by overturning a two set deficit to beat India’s Sathiyan Gnanasekaran 4-3 (11-9,7-11,13-15,11-3,4-11,11-9,11-7).
The Nigerian table tennis sensation, who was emotional after the hard fought win, has now booked his place in the Round of 16 of the men’s singles at the World Championships.
The two competitors left everything out on the table, exchanging explosive rallies throughout the contest. Gnanasekaran led twice, but in the end, it was Aruna’s heart and desire that proved the difference in truly dramatic fashion.
