Wilfred Ndidi Ruled Out Till June With ‘Unfortunate, Nasty Injury’

Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi will be out of action until June at the earliest, after suffering what has been described as an ‘unfortunate, nasty injury,’ megasportsarena.com reports.

This is the verdict of Leicester’s coach, Brendan Rodgers, while confirming that the former Nath Boys of Lagos and Racing Genk of Belgium battler will not be in action for The Foxes this weekend in the English Premier League.

Rodgers disclosed that Ndidi will not be involved for Leicester when they take on Manchester United on Saturday, but his information got scarier when he even hinted that the Nigeria international will miss the remainder of this season.

This means the 25-year-old Ndidi will end the ongoing campaign with only two goals from the 31 appearances he put up in all competitions for Leicester, for which he was forced off injured in the second half of their UEFA Europa Conference League tie with Stade Rennes of France.

He eventually had to go for surgery and he missed Nigeria’s back-to-back matches versus Ghana in the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying play-offs, with many observers blaming the Super Eagles’ inability to win in Abuja on Ndidi’s absence.

Sadly, his absence is set to be much longer, as Rodgers further confirmed that Ndidi will not be available for selection in ten other EPL fixtures as well as five matches in the Europa Conference League if Leicester go all the way to the final.

Rodgers revealed: “Wilfred Ndidi will be out for the season, it’s a shame for us but he’ll get ready for next season. It’s unfortunate.

“He’s been a brilliant player for me in my time here. He picked up a nasty injury that has had to have surgery on and he’ll recover now until June.”
