Inter Milan of Italy winger, Victor Moses has been able to settle down faster at The San Siro club due to his previous experience of playing under the Italian Serie A club’s gaffer, Antonio Conte at Chelsea of England, megasportsarena.com reports.
Conte disclosed as much in the wake of another exciting outing by Moses with The Nerazzurri, as the lad on loan from Chelsea notched his first assist for the team, and the Italian gaffer admits the former Super Eagles star is relishing the familiarity that stands strong between them.
In contrast with the struggles ex-Tottenham Hotspur of England midfielder, Christian Eriksen is facing in the Milan-based side, Conte says it is pleasant seeing Moses adjust quickly and pointed out that the former Crustal Palace and Wigan Athletic player does not require extensive training tips for him to fit into the game plan.
The tactician stated further that he was delighted to see his side come from two goals down to beat their local rivals, AC Milan 4-2 on Sunday night, with winter signing Eriksen failing to make the starting list, as the Denmark international found himself on the bench, before replacing the Alexis Sanchez in the 72nd minute, while Moses got action for the last ten minutes.
However, it was Moses who got better marks from Conte, as the former Chelsea boss adjudged that the Nigerian star, who has previously played on loan at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham united, quickly settled into life with The Nerazzurri because he tutored the wing-back for two seasons at Stamford Bridge, while Eriksen had issues at Tottenham before his arrival in Italy.
Conte told Sky Sport Italia: “Both Ashley Young and Victor Moses, because they are wing-backs, don’t need quite so much guidance in training. Plus Moses already played with me at Chelsea. For midfielders, it’s more complicated, as I always ask something pre-planned and memorised for both attacking and defending moves.
“Christian knows football well, he reads it, but also is not quite at 100 per cent fitness. Eriksen also had this issue dragging on with Tottenham, coming and going, so that takes a lot out of you. I’ve been a player, I know, it’ll take him a little while to settle.”
On his part, Moses said he had a great feeling, after helping Inter get a most precious win at Stadio Guiseppe Meaza, as the result sent his side top of the log, after Juventus suffered a shock defeat away to Hellas Verona on Saturday.
He is again expected to feature against Napoli in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final this Wednesday, with Milan taking on Juventus in the other last-four clash on Thursday, ahead of which the Nigerian lad is still relishing memories of his second league appearance for Inter.
The 29-year-old star is excited with what he has been able to do with The Nerazzurri, following his arrival on loan from Chelsea last month, getting an assist despite going on with just 10 minutes from time, as he delivered a positive performance to help Conte’s side secure a crucial comeback triumph after setting up Romelu Lukaku for Inter’s fourth goal deep in stoppage time.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner and 2018 World Cup star took his social media to reveal his thoughts about his first Milan win in the Serie A, posting: “Derby winners! What a feeling!”
