The Super Eagles camp for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations is expected to open on December 28, except there’s a change in plans by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Beleaguered coach Gernot Rohr, whose fate still hangs in a balance, hopes to play at least a friendly match before the AFCON kicks off in January.
“My plan is for the team to camp in Nigeria in December and then play a friendly in the country before departing for Cameroon early where we have very good conditions to prepare in Garoua where our team is playing.
“But let us see if I can still decide if we are preparing. We will see.”
The Super Eagles are drawn alongside Egypt, Guinea Bissau and Sudan in Group D and face the Pharaohs of Egypt in their opening game on January 11 in Garoua.
