The management of Spanish mid-stream club, Villarreal has expressed satisfaction with the return of Samuel Chukwueze to training with the squad, following his extended break, due to his exertions with the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
After getting two extra weeks off from his La Liga club, Chukwueze, who got a goal against South Africa and played three matches, en route to winning bronze with Nigeria at Egypt 2019, was back at The Yellow Submarine’s training ground on Monday, much to Villarreal’s delight.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the club took to social media to celebrate Chukwueze’s return, while also noting that he had a fantastic debut appearance at Africa’s soccer showpiece, where he contributed to the Eagles’ third-place finish.
The post noted that ‘Samu’ began his pre-season drills with a special recovery process, as he has to get back into the scheme of things with the club, owing to his long absence and lagging behind his colleagues in their buld-up programme.
Villarreal gleefully declared: “He’s here! @chukwueze_8 started his special #YellowsPreseason training program at the Training Ground after taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations with @NGSuperEagles. Great to have you back, Samu!”
