Peter Olayinka Avoids Angry Reaction To Exclusion From Eagles’ List

Slavia Prague of Czech Republic attacker, Peter Olayinka has refrained from expressing any form of anger over his exclusion from the Super Eagles’ latest list of invitees, as he admitted instead that he has to wait for another opportunity.

Although he would have loved to get a continuum of national team duty, following his presence in the squad to the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, the former 36 Lion of Lagos ace has opted to keep himself in line for the Eagles’ next assignment.

Megasportsarena.com reports that his next opportunity will come after the upcoming double header against Ghana in the final play-off for a ticket to this year’s World Cup in Qatar, and Olayinka says he will be available for selection heading into the Mundial.

This much has been disclosed by Eagles’ interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen, who heaped accolades on Olayinka, over what the gaffer tagged a rare show of professionalism when they spoke about his exclusion from the recent list.

While also praising Union Berlin of Germany attacker, Taiwo Awoniyi for also staying calm despite being named only as a standby player in the latest list, Eguavoen noted that Olayinka spoke well in response to the development.

This is another lift for the lanky lad, who top shots at Slavia Prague recognized his leadership traits in handing him the team’s captain’s band for recent matches against Fenerbahce and Sparta Prague.

The 26-year-old dark-skinned attacker, who now has seven goals and assists from 29 appearances this season, has now endeared himself to ‘Egu,’ who disclosed that he will be glad to work with the player for subsequent games.

“Awoniyi I spoke with as well, even Olayinka who we brought 48 hours before departure before we went to Cameroon, I adore his professionalism.

“Even when I spoke to him he won’t be part of this he agreed and said anytime that I call upon him he will be available.

“These are the kind of people we want to work with. He’s not someone who wants to dictate,” Eguavoen concluded.
