Enyimba of Aba defender, Valentine Ozornwafor is set for a loan deal elsewhere in Europe this summer, even after his expected signing by Galatasaray of Turkey.
Although expectations had been high that the towering stopper would join Henry Onyekuru in Gala’s main team next month, the reverse now appears to be the case, as latest reports indicate that the Istanbul-based side believe he still needs to develop his talent further at a smaller club.
In contrast with initial reports that Ozornwafor’s status as a full Nigeria international and recent outing at the FIFA U-20 World Cup with the Flying Eagles would take him straight into the Galatasaray squad, latest information indicates that he will be sent on a season-long loan by Galatasaray after he completes his signing this summer.
The 19-year-old featured for Nigeria in their first group match at Poland 2019, but he missed the next two games due to injury, which apparently prevented him from proving his true worth to Galatasaray.
Turkish news outlet, Askam.com further reports that Galatasaray monitored Ozornwafor’s progress over nine months, but The Lions plan to send him to a smaller club in central Europe for him to develop further.
