New signing at Real Madrid Femeni of Spain, Osinachi Ohale has sent deep words of appreciation to officials of her former club, Vaxjo DFF of Sweden for allowing her make the switch, which she believes will help her build herself further as a professional footballer.
Megasportsarena.com can report that, although the 27-year-old defender, who joined Vaxjo in the summer of 2018 from their rivals in the Swedish Damallsvenskan, Vittsjo, will have to make do with playing on loan at Madrid’s B-squad, CD at Tacón for now, Ohiale said she was happy to help the club to second place of the log, after 16 games, but she has now turned her focus on doing even better with Los Blancos Ladies.
Ohale, who completed her medical in Madrid on Thursday and was unveiled immediately after, becomes the fifth Nigerian woman to ply her trade in Spain, joining her national team, Super Falcons’ colleagues, Asisat Oshoala of Barcelona, Peace Efih of Sporting de Huelva, as well her club mate, Chioma Ubogagu at Tacón and Chidinma Okeke, who is with Madrid’s main team.
However, the first task Ohale, who began her career with Delta Queens of Asaba, will be to help Madrid eke out a better result on her debut, when they travel to face Efih’s Sporting de Huelva on Saturday, as her new club suffered a 9-1 humiliation by Oshoala’s Barcelona last weekend, as she was bought by the top-flight newcomers to help boost their defence with her experience.
Ohale stated: “I want to say very big thank you to Vaxjo DFF for the opportunity to be part of the great club. Thanks to the coaches, the players and all the officials for the great time and memories. I love you all and good luck for the rest of the season.”
